Jurassic Park Returns to Comics at IDW

IDW Publishing has announced that it will bring Michael Crichton’s Jurassic Park back to comics. The original feature film spawned a series of comics from Topps in the 1990s and those issues will be collected in a trade paperback as part of this deal, along with Topps issues that were never printed.

Fans attending WonderCon, April 2-4, 2010 in San Francisco, can get a sneak peak of the new series at the IDW booth #519 and at the JurassicPark panel on Friday.

“I’ve been a fan of Jurassic Park since we first published it at Topps back in the 90’s, and it’s exciting revisit and reinvigorate the property after all these years,” said Greg Goldstein, Chief Operating Officer of IDW. “There’s so much potential for interesting stories, and we have a great team in place to bring them to life.”

Available in both print and digital, IDW’s JurassicPark comics kick off with a five-issue story arc. It’s written by IDW Senior Editor Bob Schreck, illustrated by Nate Van Dyke, with covers by Tom Yeates and Frank Miller.

Subsequent issues will see variants by Arthur Adams, Paul Pope, Bernie Wrightson, and Bill Stout.

IDW will be giving away a JurassicPark poster at WonderCon, featuring Frank Miller’s cover art for issue #1.

JurassicPark: Redemption will be 32 pages, full color, retail for $3.99 and it should be available in stores in June.
