Jill Thompson Joins Baltimore Comic-Con 2020

On October 23-25, 2020, the 21st annual Baltimore Comic-Con returns to the Baltimore Convention Center. In advance of the show, the convention has announced the addition of Jill Thompson as she makes her Baltimore Comic-Con debut.

Thompson is a ten-time Eisner Award-winning comic book creator, best known for her creations The Scary Godmother and Magic Trixie, and her award-winning graphic novel Wonder Woman: The True Amazon. The Scary Godmother has been adapted to the stage as a play, and then to television for Cartoon Network, with Thompson currently working to create more Scary Godmother in every form for fans to enjoy. 

She is also known for her collaborations with Neil Gaiman on The Sandman, Grant Morrison on The Invisibles, Will Pfeifer on Finals, Evan Dorkin on Beasts of Burden, Mick Foley on Tales From Wrescal Lane, and many more. Much of her comic work has been translated into many languages and the creator enjoys traveling around the world to appear at comic conventions and festivals to meet her fans. 

“We are thrilled that Jill will be joining us this year,” said Marc Nathan, show promoter for the Baltimore Comic-Con. “This is a creator with a huge following, a very distinctive style, and amazing work to her name. This is going to be a big year with Jill at the show, we’re honored to have her with us, and her fans are going to be excited to meet her.”
