Next week Jetpack Comics is hosting a dual celebration Midnight Release Party on Wednesday, September 10, 2008. The awesome New Hampshire store will commemorate their second anniversary with a special Marvel Comics Stephen King midnight release and storewide sale. The event will feature Marvel’s adaptation of King’s novel The Stand into comic form with The Stand: Captain Trips #1 as well as the third story arc of the prequel Dark Tower: Treachery #1.

Jetpack Comics is located at 112 Portland Street in Rochester, New Hampshire. They will be open during their regular hours 12:00 to 7:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 9, then reopen at 11:00 PM that evening and stay open until 12:30 AM, Wednesday morning. King’s fans can buy the first issues of both series as well as purchase a special Midnight Release Exclusive Edition of Dark Tower: Treachery that was produced solely for the midnight release. Jetpack will give all attendees exclusive midnight release certificates of authenticity along with other promotional Stephen King items with each purchase.

Heading toward their third year, Jetpack Comics has worked to create a strong sense of community for fans of comics, collectibles, and gaming. They’ve hosted events such as Free Comic Book Day and The Portsmouth Comic Book Show. A resilient supporter of local creators, they recently commissioned an exclusive edition of the Dover-based Severed Head Comics Presents and two exclusive issues of Atomic Robo. This year they’ve also included an exclusive edition of Jorge Vega’s Gunplay and a Jetpack cover to Dean Koontz’s Frankenstein #1 from Random House’s Dabel Brothers.
