An eBay auction is now under way by noted comics dealer and longtime historian Jerry Weist, who is offering that last major listing of 70 CGC-certified comics from a private owner collection that has in all included more than 100 record-breaking price for DC Silver Age Batman and different Marvel titles.

Included, he said, are strong runs of 1950s horror, science fiction, romance, war, as well as DC and Marvel Silver Age titles from a new warehouse find that he plans to continue selling over the course of the year. Additionally he is offering issues from another collection including runs of Mystery In Space and Strange Adventures.

The 366-lot event is “…a very powerful auction for comic collectors, one you shouldn’t miss!” he said.

You may find his new comic auction by searching eBay for the following four item numbers: 190377482216 CGC Avengers #93 (9.4), 110501983563 Blackhawk run 13-53(mixed), 190377527533 CGC Tales Of Suspense #39 (4.0) or 110502006509 Detective Comics #226 (6.0) and by clicking on the “Visit Seller’s Store” option for Jerry Weist Comics.

On a personal note, Weist told his email client list that this will be his last eBay auction prior to entering a stem-cell transplant procedure later this Spring/Summer to fight cancer.

“Many of you have sent your thoughts on my cancer,” he wrote. “I’m extremely grateful to have such a great client base. Right now I am half way through. All soft tumors are cured, my doctors are working on a new chemo (Cytoxin) to get my bone marrow count down so that I may enter stem-cell transplant, so hang in there with me! I may yet survive this battle. I may enter stem cell in May or June!”

Jerry has long played an important part in uncovering the history of the comic book industry, and everyone here at Scoop wishes him and his family the best during this time.
