The Jem and the Holograms movie has a release date: October 23, 2015. A teaser poster for the film was released earlier this year, and details have generally been slow to come out, so the date’s announcement may be a sign of further news to come.

The casting of the four main protagonists was also previously announced earlier this year: Aubrey Peeples will star as Jem herself, while Hayley Kiyoko, Stefanie Scott and Aurora Perrineau will play the other members of The Holograms.

Jon M. Chu is directing the movie, having previously directed G.I. Joe: RetaliationJem and G.I. Joe cartoons in the 1980s were handled by the same production studio.
