Ithacon, which was scheduled for March 21-22, 2020, has been cancelled. The con runners have received communication from guests, vendors, and attendees who have expressed concern about the COVID-19 virus.

The show received a statement from their event host, Ithaca College, “As the situation surrounding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact continues to evolve, Ithaca College is instituting new restrictions on campus events and on employee travel. These policies are being implemented in the interests of the health and safety of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.”

It went to state the restrictions that would be implemented, such as canceling larger events scheduled through March 31, including Ithacon 2020. “While we recognize that cancellations are disruptive and disappointing, it is essential that we prioritize the health and safety of all members of our campus community.”

Everyone who purchased tickets to Ithacon 2020 will receive a full refund as soon as possible and will receive an email when the refund is processed. They are in the process of planning some digital events and activities that will be made public through their social media platforms and website.

The next spring Ithacon is still scheduled for April 17-18, 2021.
