The Insight Studios Group is celebrating their 25th consecutive appearance at Baltimore Comic-Con on September 25-27, 2026. Mark Wheatley, Marc Hempel, David Gerrold, Glenn Hauman, Martha Thomases, and other special guests will be at booth #118.

“Baltimore Comic-Con has always felt like coming home,” Wheatley said. “We’ve been fortunate enough to be part of the show since its earliest years, and we’ve watched it grow into one of the finest comic conventions in the country. Every year, we look forward to reconnecting with old friends, meeting new readers, and sharing the projects we’ve been working on.”

Creative partners Wheatley and Hempel are leading the Insight Studios Group lineup. The pair have collaborated on Breathtaker, Blood of the Innocent, Mars, Tarzan, Jonny Quest, and Be An Interplanetary Spy. Wheatley will debut and sign a new edition of Frankenstein Mobster and The Caspak Trilogy, featuring nearly 30 new illustrations and a new cover.

They are joined by science fiction screenwriter and novelist Gerrold (Star Trek), Hauman, the publisher of ComicMix, and writer Thomases (Dakota North).

Wheatley is the creator behind Frankenstein Mobster, Mars, Blood of the Innocent, Lone Justice, EZ Street, and Return of the Human. His art has appeared in Tarzan, Jonny Quest, Ultraman, he made art for Lady Gaga, and his work has appeared in print, television, film, and museum exhibits. He is an Eisner, Inkpot, Golden Lion, and Overstreet Hall of Fame honoree.

Hempel’s art has appeared in The Sandman, Gregory, Tug & Buster, and Naked Brain, as well as MAD, Heavy Metal, Disney Adventures, Marvel Fanfare, Marvel Fanfare, Epic Illustrated, and Nickelodeon Magazine.

Thomases created Dakota North with artist Tony Salmons, and has spent her career writing in journalism and comics. Her work has been featured in The Village Voice, New York Daily News, High Times, Spy, and National Lampoon. Her graphic novel, Second-Hand Rose, is set to be published by A Wave Blue World.

In addition to being the publisher of ComicMix, Hauman is a writer, editor, designer, and colorist. His anthology, They Keep Killing Glenn, showcases his wit and self-deprecating humor.

Gerrold is an influential voice in speculative fiction, who is best known for writing the Star Trek episode “The Trouble with Tribbles.” He created the Sleestak for Land of the Lost and wrote the Hugo-winning The Martian Child.

“We are happy to welcome the Insight Studios Group back to the show,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “A staple since our early years, [Insight Studios Group] will be back with much of their normal core, plus adding David Gerrold for the first time this year.
