Indiana Jones Bullwhip in Propstore Auction
Propstore is offering a significant piece from the iconic Indiana Jones franchise in their upcoming Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction. Indy’s bullwhip, whip holster, and belt set from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade will be part of the two-day auction held in Los Angeles in September 2025.
The 8-foot-long hero bullwhip was created by David Morgan, who crafted all of the whips for the original Indiana Jones trilogy. It is made of dark brown leather with the original fall and cracker, and is described by Propstore as being in excellent condition with only light wear from on-set use.
The whip, holster, and belt set come with a production tag noting that they were to be used in the “Rideaway Scene.” The whip and holster are secured by metal wire ties to hold the set together, and there are marks on the whip from previous bindings when they were coiled on Indy’s belt.
The whip, belt, and holster are the only known complete example of the set. They have been held in a private collection for decades and are being offered to the collecting market for the first time. The set was originally obtained from a production source who worked on the movie and is believed to have been used during the motorcycle chase sequence. They will come with the production used call sheet.
This auction marks the first time that a complete set of all three pieces will be offered in a public auction. They are expected to be among the most popular lots in the auction.
“This is an exceptional example of Indiana Jones’ most iconic prop and one of the most complete sets we’ve encountered from The Last Crusade (1989). While original whips have surfaced in the past, this is the first time we’ve seen a whip, belt, and holster from the production offered together, which significantly elevates its historical and collectible value,” Propstore COO Brandon Alinger said. “With excellent provenance, and strong ties to a key action sequence from the film, this set offers a rare and exciting opportunity to own a genuine piece of Indiana Jones history.”
