Pro wrestler Scott Hall died on Monday, March 14, 2022, following complications during surgery to repair damage to a broken hip. He was 63 years old.

On Sunday, his former tag team partner Kevin Nash shared a post on Instagram that Hall was on life support after suffering severe issues in the surgery. His family chose to remove him from life support on Monday.

Hall, who also wrestled as Razor Ramon, was a two-time WWE Hall of Famer and influential wrestler. Nicknamed the Bad Guy, Hall filled his promos and entrances to the ring with swagger and confidence. In tag team wrestling, he was a founding member of the New World Order (nWo).

Hall was born on October 20, 1958 in St. Mary’s County, Maryland. He joined pro wrestling in 1984 with Championship Wrestling of Florida. Through the ‘80s, he bounced around in AWA, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Puerto Rico’s WWC, and WCW.

He joined WWE in ’92, creating the Razor Ramon persona, a Cuban-American riff on Scarface. As the bad guy everyone cheered for, he was a four-time Intercontinental champion and wrestled Shawn Michaels in the historic ladder match at WrestleMania X.

In ’96, Hall left WWE to sign with WCW, sparking dramatic storylines for himself and other wrestlers who jumped from company to company. When he joined WCW, he was initially packaged as an invader who came to takeover. Nash signed on with WCW and the pair became The Outsiders, then Hulk Hogan moved over to WCW and they became the bad guy team of nWo. He became a seven-time tag team champion and the nWo was among WCW’s most popular acts.

When WCW closed, he briefly returned to WWE with his teammates, then had runs at Total Nonstop Action in the 2000s. Hall was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014 as Razor Ramon and was honored again in 2020 with Nash, Hogan, and Sean “X-Pac” Waltman for their time as nWo.
