In Memoriam: Ray Haradin

Well known vintage toy collector Anthony “Ray” Haradin, Jr. died on June 24, 2025. According to his obituary, Haradin died peacefully at home surrounded by his wife, Nancy, and close family members. He was 60 years old.

Haradin was from the Mount Lebanon area of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. A lifelong collector of antique toys, banks, and soldiers, he turned that passion into a career. He published Old Toy Soldier Magazine, owned Toys of YesterYear, and was a partner in RSL Auctions, Old Toy Soldier Auction House, and Cybertoys.

In August 2024, RSL Auction’s gallery hosted a sale of 149 toys and banks from the Haradin family’s collection. The incredible offerings in that auction were led by the only known George Brown “Charles” Hose Reel Carriage, which is considered one of the most important American tin toys.
