We are saddened to report that Michael Wayne, eldest son of the
legendary John Wayne, has died in Los Angeles at the age of 68. He reportedly
died from heart failure, as a result of complications from lupus.

Michael
worked with his father on several films, producing such memorable titles such as
McLintock!, The Green Berets, Big Jake and many others.
Michael was also the primary controller of his father’s estate after his death
in 1979, and served as chairman of the John Wayne Cancer Institute at St. John’s
Health Center in Santa Monica, California. He will be sorely
missed.
