In Memoriam: Marcia Strassman

Marcia Strassman, the versatile actress known for her role on Welcome Back Kotter passed away Friday, October 24, 2014 at her home in Sherman Oaks, California. Strassman had been fighting breast cancer for seven years. She was 66 years-old.

Strassman’s career included TV roles on M*A*S*H*, The Patty Duke Show, The Rockford Files, Good Time Harry, Booker, a voice acting role in Aaahh!!! Real Monsters, Tremors, and recently Third Watch. She is also well known for her role as the Diane Szalinski in Honey, I Shrunk the Kids and its sequels. Her latest project was the TV movie Looking for Mr. Right.

She spent several years as a national board member of the Screen Actors Guild. Strassman is the third cast member of Welcome Back, Kotter who has passed away in recent years, following Ron Palillo and Robert Hegyes.
