Image and Skybound have previewed the group of variant covers that will appear on the first issue of Lego Ninjago: Garmadon. Writer/artist Tri Vuong will lead the series. This will be the first comic in the partnership between Skybound and children’s book publisher Ameet. It will be in stores on April 6, 2022.

The first issue will have a main cover by Vuong, plus a variant by Vuong and Annalisa Leoni. It will also include the launch of two new variant cover series that will continue through the five-issue run of Lego Ninjago: Garmadon. They include the “Legacy of Evil” variant, featuring Juni Ba’s work on the first cover, and a 1:10 variant “Garmadon Evolutions,” with the first cover by Tom Whalen.

“Far away from Ninjago City, a village is terrorized by a mysterious new threat when they’re saved by a stranger with incredible powers known as… Garmadon, Lord of Destruction?! Has Garmadon turned over a new leaf since his disappearance, or is this just the first step in his master plan of finally defeating Master Wu and the ninja forever,” the description reads.

All four covers are listed in Diamond Comic Distributors’ PREVIEWS catalog.
