Hero Initiative heads to Wizard World Austin
Hero Initiative, the charitable organization dedicated to helping veteran comic creators in medical or financial need, is traveling to Wizard World Austin at the Austin Convention Center Thursday through Saturday, October 2-4, 2014.
Joining Hero Initiative is special guest star Nate Van Dyke, artist of Jurassic Park. Nate will be at the Hero booth and will only be at the con Friday and Saturday, so be sure to stop by booth #1130. Hero is proud to announce the release of the Uncanny X-Men Project 100. Pick up a copy at the Hero Initiative booth and get them signed by featured artists Nate Van Dyke, Marat Michaels and Ken Lashley.
Hero’s creator Ambassadors Ken Lashley, Kevin Maguire, and Arthur Suydam will be the con floor collecting at their own booths, accepting donations to support Hero Initiative. Make sure to swing to do the right thing.
The Hero Initiative is the first-ever federally chartered not-for-profit corporation dedicated strictly to helping comic book artists and craftsmen in need. Hero Initiative creates a financial safety net for yesterday’s creators who may need emergency medical aid, financial support for essentials of life, and an avenue back into paying work. It’s a chance for all of us to give back something to the people who have given us so much enjoyment.
Since its inception, The Hero Initiative has had the good fortune to grant over $700,000 to the comics veterans who have paved the way for those in the industry today. For more information, visit www.HeroInitiative.org or call (626) 676-6354.
