The Hero Initiative is returning to Baltimore Comic-Con to host their charity art auction this weekend on September 25-27, 2026. The annual event will present over 30 pieces of art by Kelley Jones, Stan Sakai, Walter Simonson, and several others.

The annual Hero Initiative auction will be held on Saturday at 5 PM in room 339-342. Most of the art is drawn specifically for the auction, and all of it can be viewed ahead of time at booth #1704. Interested participants can preregister for the auction at the booth.

Examples of the art in the auction includes:

• Vintage watercolor of Opus the Penguin by Bloom County creator Berkeley Breathed. Measures 13” x 13-1/2”.
• Vampire Batman drawing by Kelley Jones. Measures 11” x 17”.
• Golden Age Superman painting by Sean McManus. Measures 20” x 32”.
• Batman and Man-Bat illustration by Kevin Nowlan who was inspired by his Man-Bat Secret Origins Measures 11” x 17”.
• Spider-Man illustration by Mike Perkins. Measures 11” x 17”.
• Sam and Max painting by Steve Purcell. He doesn’t sell his art but created this painting for this auction. Measures 14” x 14.5”.
• Frank Quitely’s watercolor reimagining of his All-Star Superman #1 cover. Measures 11” x 17”.
• Stan Sakai’s Usagi Yojimbo does battle with one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Measures 12” x 9”.
• Batman and Robin: Year One art by Chris Samnee. Measures 9” x 12”.
• Walter Simonson piece featuring Thor and the Warriors Three doing battle with a huge monster. Measures 30” x 22”.
• Rick Veitch illustration based on one of the most controversial storylines in comics history. Measures 11” x 17”.
