Dust off the VCR, because it’s movie night at Heritage. The multifaceted auction house is hosting a VHS & Home Entertainment Signature Auction on Thursday, June 29, 2023.

The auction contains sought after horror VHS, including a rare 1985 factory sealed Gremlins CGC box 8.5, seal B+, with the slipcase, H-overlap seal, two tone tape (Khaki guard), orange WHV4 stamp, no UPC, pre-watermark copy, and Warner silver security sticker. The Shining 1986 copy from the Motor City Collection, CGC 9.0 and seal A++ has a slipcase, H-overlap seal, orange WHV stamp, wraparound white Warner Home Video watermarks, and Warner silver security sticker. The Friday the 13th Betamax 1981 edition VGA 85+ has a gatefold box, vertical overlap seal, and rear white Paramount Home Video watermarks.

Action hero Sylvester Stallone’s movies are often showcase pieces in VHS auctions, and three of them are offered in the auction. There’s a pair of 1982 release copies of Rocky VGA 80+ and Rocky II VGA 80, both are drawer box, have flatback seal, and rear 20th Century Fox Video watermarks. First Blood (1982) IGS box 9 and seal 9.5 is in a Thorn EMI Video clamshell.

Director Steven Spielberg is another big hit in VHS auctions for his many hits during the video format’s heyday. The Raiders of the Lost Ark 1983 edition VGA 85 NM+ has a slipcase, vertical overlap seal, with rear white Paramount Home Video watermarks. The Jaws 1983 copy IGS box 9, seal 9.5 comes in a slipcase, C-seal, scotch tape, and wraparound MCA Home Video watermarks.
