Consignments are being accepted until October 7, 2013 for Heritage Auctions’ November 20 Animation Art Signature Auction in Beverly Hills. The event presents rare production cels and drawings used in some of the world’s most beloved animated features and films, the company said, and it follows last winter’s inaugural Heritage animation event, which realized more than $923,000. The high note in that even was a three-cell set-up from Walt Disney’s Lady and the Tramp, which sold for $33,460.

Heritage’s Animation Art auctions feature original art works from animated shorts, character studies, original illustrations, and production drawings, memorabilia, reference materials and more. The Nov. 20 auction will feature a number of works, including a rare original hand-inked and hand-painted 12-field nitrate production cel from the 1937 Disney classic The Clock Cleaners and an extremely rare original hand-painted color model cel of all four Beatles the 1968 animated feature film Yellow Submarine.

“An animation auction doesn’t get much better than this,” said Jim Lentz, Director of Animation Art at Heritage Auctions. “From Saturday matinees to Saturday morning cartoons, this auction holds original works from nearly every genre of the animation art form. The rarities we have lined up means collectors of all ranks will notice the material in this sale.”
