Heritage Galleries Relocate to Support Expansion

space in Dallas as part of their expansion into additional markets. Heritage’s
new address, effective December 15, 2003, will be 3500 Maple Avenue, Dallas
Texas, 75219. Doubling existing footage to more than 43,000 sq. ft., Heritage
will have crown signage on the building (“Heritage Galleries”), along with a
landmark 10-foot high neon $20 Saint Gaudens gold piece, believed to be the
world’s largest “coin.”
To further recognize Heritage’s expansion into
new areas of collectibles auctions beyond their traditional numismatic base, the
name of the Heritage parent corporation – formerly Heritage Capital Corp. – has
been changed to Heritage Galleries & Auctioneers. “None of the names of our
individual business units will be changed,” explained Heritage Co-Chairman Jim
Halperin. “We are just changing our overall name to more accurately reflect the
reality of our expanding auction areas.”
“The need for such a major
office expansion,” explained Heritage Co-Chairman Steve Ivy, “was directly due
to our exploding collectibles auction business. Heritage is now the world’s
largest collectibles auctioneer, and we needed to drastically expand our office
and gallery space. In fact, given the strong rare coin market, our coin business
alone required expansion of our facilities even without the increase in the
other segments of our business. We loved Highland Park Village, and we have
nothing but compliments for the Millers – they were great landlords for our 14
years there. Unfortunately, there just wasn’t enough space in this popular
location for our expansion needs. In the immediate future, Heritage will be
launching new auction services in sports memorabilia, antique jewelry, and rare
books.”
“This is an exciting opportunity for both our staff and our
clients,” concluded Halperin. “This is a very classy building, located in a
great part of town, and we now have room to grow.”
