Heritage Comics Auction Underway
started its Thursday night session on May 11, 2006, will continue through the
weekend, ending on May 13. Scoop will have the final results in next
week’s issue.
The incredible mixture of comic art, CGC graded comics,
animation art and more has been attracting attention from around the globe. The
highlights include Jack Kirby’s original cover art to Fantastic Four
#85. Another piece of original art is showing signs of exceeding pre-auction
estimates. the cover art to Richie Rich #1 has already brought in collectors
from all over.
In addition to the original artwork, copies of
Detective Comics #53 – 57, the highest-graded copy of Richie Rich
#1, The Harold Curtis Collection and a copy of the New Book of Comics #1
are also up on the auction block.
Fans of animation are watching
carefully as key cels from Snow White and Pinocchio are going up on the block.
Besides these Disney delights, there is also animation art from the studios of
Walter Lantz, Hanna-Barbera, Jay Ward and others.
