Comic books are getting an infusion of cuteness. IDW Publishing and Sanrio have announced a partnership to produce Hello Kitty comics starting in 2026, with more titles to come in 2027. The first all-ages book starring the beloved and adorable pop culture icon debuts in July 2026.

The line begins with Hello Kitty: Hello World! written by Mariko Tamaki (This One Summer) and illustrated by Cody Lemieux (Gnome Granny). It will feature a classic depiction of Sanrio’s Hello Kitty and her friends who embark on a tour around the world to solve a riddle. Their travels will bring them to new riddles, and they’ll make new friends along the way.

We can’t wait for these comics to bring inspiring and joyful stories to comic shops everywhere.”

Hello Kitty: Hello World! #1 will go on sale on July 22. The series will be followed by more Hello Kitty comics and crossovers in 2027. Titles will be revealed soon, according to IDW.
