Vanguard Productions founder J. David Spurlock celebrated his 50th birthday a few days early with a dinner on November16, 2009, in New York City. He was joined by a few close friends including innovative Batman, X-Men and Green Lantern artist Neal Adams; Flash, Batgirl, and Poison Ivy co-creator Carmine Infantino; and Dondi and Wildcat creator  Irwin Hasen whose new, autobiographical graphic novel, Loverboy, the first printed samples of which Vanguard just received. It should be in stores in December.
