On Halloween participating comic book stores in the U.S., Canada, and internationally will be giving out over 1.75 million free comic books. The Halloween ComicFest will take place on Saturday, October 31, 2015, giving comic book readers the choice of 21 free Halloween-themed comics. Many stores will also host costume contests and other fun events for readers of all ages.

The 21 free comics include 13 full-size issue and 8 mini-comics. Titles include Harley Quinn and Batman Adventures, Dr. Strange and Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers #1, Sabrina, Archie, Donald Duck, Skylanders, and other great titles.

Throughout October comic book stores also have Halloween ComicFest mini-packs that can be purchased for Trick ‘r Treaters. Each pack contains 25 single mini-comics to serve as alternatives to more candy.

Halloween ComicFest is also running “The Greatest Halloween Costume Contest Ever” on their website, now through November 10. There are five categories and prizes up to $500. To learn more about the contest, check our coverage.

“We want communities to participate in Halloween ComicFest to not only discover various types of comics from the great selection offered, but to see comic shops as fun Halloween destinations, a great place to meet like-minded people, and to discover the new, cool comic and pop culture items available each week and all throughout the year,” said Halloween ComicFest spokesperson Deborah Moreland. “This year there are more comic shops participating and more free comics that will be handed out, making it a great sign that retailers are expecting for more fans to celebrate Halloween with them!”
