Hake’s is offering 1,930 lots of Americana and pop culture memorabilia in their premier Auction #238. The mix of material includes over 300 Star Wars lots with rarities and highly desirable action figures and related toys.

A Boba Fett rocket-firing prototype (L-slot) AFA 75+ action figure is leading the charge once again. The 3-3/4” unpainted prototype was set to be in Kenner’s 1979 Star Wars toy line, but it was scraped from production because the rocket-firing capability was deemed to be a choking hazard. This example of the figure does not include the rocket.

The Luke Skywalker 12-back-C AFA 85 is a high grade example of the double-telescoping variety of the figure. This version of the toy has a lightsaber with a second extendable piece that was not present on later editions of the figure. This example is on an unpunched card.

The auction contains multiple Boba Fett action figures, including a 21-back-A AFA 85+, which is the single highest graded example. There are two other examples of the figure with a 21-back-A AFA 80 and a 21-back-B AFA 85, plus the only known example of The Empire Strikes Back 48-back-A AFA 75+ (Taiwan figure) and a Droids line graded AFA 85.

The desirable figures continue with supporting characters like the Star Wars Jawa 12-back-A AFA 80 vinyl cape variety, which is an early version of the figure made before the cape was switched to cloth. The Power of the Force Yak Face 92-back AFA 80 Canadian issue is the most desirable of the last 17 figures and was only released in foreign markets.

Star Wars figure highlights also include individual figures like Luke Skywalker 12-back-A AFA 85 and Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi 12-back-A AFA 85. There are multi-figure lots with the Android Set three-pack Series 1 AFA 80+ and the early bird mailer kit with a double-telescoping Luke, Princess Leia, Chewbacca, and R2-D2 AFA 80+. Hake’s is also selling 12” series figures of Ben Kenobi AFA 90, Darth Vader AFA 85, Boba Fett AFA 75+, and a Lili Ledy Star Wars/Le Guerrade Las Galaxias Luke Skywalker AFA 80 Q-VG.

These and many more Star Wars lots are opening for bidding at hakes.com. The auction closes on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 25-26, 2023.
