Hake’s Jeff Jacob Collection Part 2 Auction is filled with rare, desirable, and high value action figures from some of the most popular late 1970s and ‘80s toy lines. This includes an impressive lineup of figures, toy vehicles, and more from the Transformers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The Transformers lots roll out with a Bumblebee Series 2 Minicar (robot form, yellow variety) AFA 85. In an effort to make the early Transformers toy line appear larger, both Bumblebee and Cliffjumper (as both shared distinct similarities) were released in yellow and red color varieties. This is the fourth release with the Registered mark and shows the red vehicle on the card. There are only nine examples graded AFA 85 on the AFA Population Report with none higher.

The Optimus Prime Series 1 AFA 75 is the rare Pepsi variant, which was issued as a limited edition mail-away offer by the soda company. This Generation 1, Series 1 Optimus Prime is the standard US release but comes with the Pepsi logo on the header and “Look Inside For Your Pepsi Stickers To Put On Optimus Prime” text. A rare piece, it is among the most desirable Series 1 Transformers toys.

The Decepticons are well represented with a Jet – Starscream Series 1 AFA 80 Air Commander and a Jet Thundercracker Series 1 AFA 80+. Both are examples with the rubsign and are Mint in sealed box.

In addition to the standard Transformers toys, Hake’s has a Takara Kronoform Collection Kaltor AFA 80. The blister card/box contains the Autobot Kaltor toy and working digital watch.

In the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles section, Hake’s is offering a Shredder Series 1 10-back AFA 85. This is the soft head variety, and the figure is on an unpunched card. There are only 11 graded AFA 85 and none are graded higher.

The Bebop Series 1 10-back AFA 85 is also the soft head variety on an unpunched card. Only seven examples have been graded by AFA, and this is the single highest graded example, according to the AFA Population Report.

A rare piece in the auction is the Super Shredder Chef Boyardee exclusive figure with mailer AFA 80. The 5” tall figure was only available as part of a mail away promotion with Chef Boyardee Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles canned pasta. This figure differs from the Playmates’ carded Super Shredder figure because it has a black suit with silver armor, weapons, and accessories while the carded figure has a purple suit. It is one of only two figures graded by AFA.

High grade Ninja Turtles lots continue with a Raphael Series 1 10-back AFA 80+ (soft head with the fan club flyer), April O’Neil Series 1 10-back AFA 85+ (blue stripe variety), and a Casey Jones Series 2 19-back AFA 85.

The Jeff Jacob Collection Part 2 Auction is open for bidding at hakes.com now through Thursday, May 15, 2025.
