Hake’s Features Detective Comics
in his DC titles to the Silver Screen, the world knows that Batman is the best.
The next Hake’s auction, scheduled to go online August 24, is offering a look
back over the Batman’s long run.
In our July 29 issue, Scoop
offered our readers a look at the listings Hake’s is offering for the Batman
solo title. Those listings go as far back as the fifth issue of the title. When
it comes to Batman’s first home, Detective Comics, Hake’s has come across a
solid run of issues. The issues begin in 1944 and continue into the Silver Age.
Many of the titles bear a solid pedigree and others are among the highest graded
issues that the CGC-Census has seen.
Hake’s has always offered
collectors the best in Americana, entertainment, and political collectibles. In
the past few auctions they have begun to incorporate some highly valued books
into their offerings. “We have made a conscious effort to attract comic bidders
to our recent auctions” says Jeff Robison, the General Manager of Hake’s. “The
response to our previous offerings has been incredible. We have been able to
put together a strong list of offerings that we are very proud of. The Batman
and Detective titles in this auction represent a really creative period in the
character’s evolution.”
You can visit Hake’s at www.hakes.com. While you are waiting
for the preview to go live, make sure you take a look in their archives and see
what they have offered in the past. They have always had a great way of finding
exactly what the collector was looking for, regardless of the genre.
