Hake’s Facebook Page Update
This week Hake’s Americana & Collectibles announced that the catalog production is in the final stages and the auction is set to go online on October 21, 2014 for the auction that will close November 11-13. They created a photo album for an Auction #213 preview on their Facebook page.
Some of the other items featured on their Facebook page include an album cover for the King himself, signed by Elvis Presley. Commemorating President Harry S. Truman making the first ever televised presidential address, they posted a list of Truman buttons. They also posted an image of Marvel Comics packages of chewing gum featuring The Fantastic Four, Spider-Man, Captain America, and The Incredible Hulk, an odd button advertising the Mora Sealed Bonnet made for lady riders of early automobiles, and a great button stating “Welcome Home” for Charles Lindbergh.
From the stock of their frightful collectibles, they included a lobby card for the 1953 rerelease of The Bride of Frankenstein. There’s a classic slogan button of Howdy Doody, stating “It’s Howdy Doody Time,” in honor of The CW’s new show The Flash they posted an image of Justice League of America #9 CGC 5.0, and a great Mickey Mouse badge from the 1930s which is one of just a few that Hake’s has seen in 47 years.
Their next auction includes a large selection of toys including wind-ups and battery operated toys like a Smokey the Bear Jeep toy. With the new season of American Horror Story: Freakshow premiering this week, Hake’s posted a friendly looking clown button. They also featured lobby cards for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland and Captain America #52 CGC 7.0 from January 1946.
