Hake’s Auctions has unveiled the new look and updated features on their website, which was “designed for a better experience on both desktop and mobile,” per the email they sent to customers. Hake’s implemented changes using feedback from those customers, particularly by making it more mobile friendly and providing previews of upcoming auctions.

The view of auction items has been redesigned to more prominently showcase images of the item(s). Now when bidders click on a lot, they will see a large image of the item beside the name of the lot and current bid. Lots with multiple photos can be viewed via the carousel by clicking on the main image. The complete item description appears below.

Hake’s has made some changes to their closing procedures. The extended bidding period begins at 9:20 PM ET, and lots with zero or one bid will close at that time. Lots with two or more bids will enter the extended bidding period and close at individual times based on incoming bids. Each new competing bid made after 9:20 PM extends that lot’s closing time by 20 minutes.

The buyer’s premium is now 20%. The bid increments are now preset and can be selected from a dropdown menu. The bid amounts will be shown with the buyer’s premium.

The website is now more mobile friendly, with improved ease of use on mobile screens.

Hake’s site will feature previews of upcoming auctions with more material added as items arrive at their facility and are processed for the auctions. Interested bidders can now “watch” lots via a button in each item’s description.

The carousel on the home page will include upcoming announcements, details on the payment portal, showcase record sales, advertise collectibles that they are seeking for consignments, highlight auction results, and more.

The first auction on the new website, the Loose Star Wars Graded Auction, starts on December 9, 2025; a preview of the can be viewed on the site. It contains over 200 action figures highlighted by two Luke Skywalker figures with double-telescoping lightsabers, and multiple examples of characters like Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and others. There are rare figures, high grade examples, multiple variations, and more.

“The new website was a long time coming and a much-needed refresh. Listening to suggestions from our customers, we’re excited for the rollout of a much more mobile-friendly experience and the ability to share auction previews!” Hake’s Consignment Manager Kelly McClain said. “A lot of hard work went into this, and we’ve been looking forward to this just as much as our customers have. What better way to cap off our most successful year?”
