When you get a pack of gum, how many of you save the cards that are
sometimes included within? And how many save the wrapper, for that matter?
Well, some people have kept these items over the years and now they’re
commanding impressive prices at auction. Gum cards, as they’re known, were
produced for a variety of subjects, from television shows, music and movie
stars, historical events/people, and of course, baseball and other sports, to
name a few. Hake’s Americana & Collectibles latest auction #183 has a
plethora of offerings in these categories.

Some of the highlights of
this auction include a Christmas rack pack with 12 Topps baseball cards from
1957, including a Mickey Mantle MVP card; a complete set of Mars Attacks! Cards,
including the checklist; and a complete set of Mickey Mouse cards issued in the
1930s by Gum Inc. These items, along with other gum/trading cards and wrappers,
are now available for bidding in Hake’s April auction.
