Greg Cipes Reportedly Fired from Teen Titans Go!
A report has stated that Greg Cipes, the actor who has voiced Beast Boy for years on Teen Titans Go!, was let go from the show. According to Cipes, his job was terminated the day after he publicly announced that he has Parkinson’s disease.
Cipes began voicing Beast Boy in 2003 on Teen Titans, and starred on the show during its five-season run through 2006. He voiced Beast Boy for ten seasons of Teen Titans Go! from 2013 to 2025, and voiced him in Teen Titans movies and other DC animated projects.
On September 7, 2025, social media personality and DC fan Emmanuel Devon Newsome posted on Instagram that Cipes had been fired from Teen Titans Go! following his Parkinson’s diagnosis. In his post, Newsome wrote that “Greg told me he has been discriminated against because of his Parkinson’s and they are trying to steal his voice and replace him with a mimic for the new Teen Titans Go! season.”
Cipes commented on the post, stating that he was fired on Valentine’s Day. Both Newsome and Cipes have issued a call to action to Cipes’ fans in the hopes of reinstating him as the voice of Beast Boy. Cipes wrote, “It’s like a death to me that only the fans can bring back to life.”
When the post went viral an unnamed source told CBR that he was not fired from the show because of his disease. The source said that Beast Boy had been recast, and that Cipes would voice a different character on the show. The source also claimed that Cipes and Warner Bros. Animation had made an agreement for a development deal.
Regardless of what transpired behind the scenes, it will be interesting to see how fan response affects the situation regarding Cipes’ role as Beast Boy. Vocal fan support has had success in the past, including the release of Zack Snyder director’s cut of Justice League following years of requests for the film.
