Green Hornet / Miss Fury #5
Dynamite; $4.99
Green Hornet has tracked Silver Shrike to the nearby forest and is poised for a nasty confrontation with his old friend and mentor turned villain. Shrike delivers a speech about his vision for what being a hero truly means, then finally reveals his plans to a shocked Green Hornet. Elsewhere, Miss Fury and Kato are trying to help the real police stop Shrike’s goons who are also dressed as police. Miss Fury’s agenda extends to hunting down the Baroness before she gets away.
The final issue in the limited series co-written by Alex Segura and Henry Barajas follows the style of the last issue, mixing a good amount of action and dialogue. The conversation between Green Hornet and Silver Shrike revolves around the lines that heroes should or shouldn’t cross and the diverging paths that the two men have taken. Miss Fury and Kato get the bulk of the action this issue and make a pretty good team.
Artist Federico Sorressa and colorist Lesley Atlansky did a great job on the art. Britt’s emotional turmoil comes through as does Silver Shrike’s disdain for people. They depict the action in so many different shots and angles, keeping things fresh from panel to panel.
