Golden to Modern Comics at ComicLink End Apr. 24 to Next Week

The current ComicLink Focused Auction began closing earlier this week but there are still thousands of certified comic books and hundreds of original art lots still to go. The vast majority of the items in this auction started at $1 and with no seller reserve price. Over 350 Golden Age comic books are closing Friday, April 24, 2020.

Highlights include keys and classic covers like Captain America Comics #3 (Red Skull cover) CGC 4.0 Signature Series Stan Lee and Joe Simon, Detective Comics #58 (first Penguin) CGC 5.5, and high grade scarcities like Menace #9 (Gene Colan walking dead cover) CGC 9.2 (single highest graded), as well as relatively affordable examples of two keys All Star Comics #8 (first Wonder Woman) and Archie Comics #1.

Next week’s closings include the best of the Modern era such as two high grade examples of Bone #1 and Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.8. There are hundreds of original art lots offered from many beloved artists within our hobby. Lots start closing at 8 PM ET / 5 PM PT on April 24 and will continue closing each subsequent weekday until the original art session ends on Monday, May 4.

Golden Age offerings include Detective Comics #76 (Robinson Joker cover) CGC 8.0, Mad #1 CGC 6.5, Human Torch #18 (Schomburg WWII cover) CGC 8.0 (top five), Captain America Comics #47 (last Schomburg WWII cover) CGC 5.0 and #62 CGC 4.0, Sub-Mariner Comics #3 (Schomburg WWII Panama Canal invasion cover) CGC 3.0, Weird Comics #9 (1940) CGC 7.0 (top four), Batman #42 (first Catwoman cover in title) CGC 6.5, New York World’s Fair #1939 (first published Sandman) CGC 2.0, World’s Finest Comics #3 (first Scarecrow) CGC 4.0 and Zip Comics #31 (WWII cover) CGC 3.5 (scarce book in any grade).

Pre-code horror and sci-fi offerings are Journey Into Mystery #6 (Everett skeleton wedding cover) CGC 7.0, Black Cat Mystery #50 (face melting cover) CGC 5.0, Weird Tales of the Future #1 CGC 7.0, and Famous Funnies #211 (Frazetta Buck Rogers cover) CGC 9.4.

Post-1975 offerings include many of the major keys from the past 45 years including Bone #1 CGC 9.6Q (Jeff Smith unwitnessed signature) and CGC 9.0, Walking Dead #1 CGC 9.8, X-Men #101 CGC 9.8 as well as many other CGC 9.8 X-Men from the Claremont/Byrne/Austin era, Amazing Spider-Man #194 CGC 9.8, #238 CGC 9.8, #252 CGC 9.8, and #300 CGC 9.6, Batman Adventures #12 CGC 9.8, Captain Marvel (2014) #17 second printing (first Kamala Khan as Ms. Marvel, first cover on second printing) CGC 9.8, New Mutants #87 CGC 9.8 and #98 CGC 9.8, Spider-Gwen: Ghost Spider #1 CGC 9.8 Jheeyung Lee variant, and Transformers #1 CGC 9.8.
