Mike W. Barr has spent 50 years as a comics writer, and science fiction and mystery novelist. He is known for his work on Batman and the Outsiders, Batman: Son of the Demon, Star Trek adaptations, his creator owned Camelot 3000, as well as The Brave and the Bold, The Outsiders, World’s Finest Comics, and much more.

Due to multiple health related issues, Barr is in need of financial assistance. According to the GoFundMe page created to help Barr, he has had multiple knee replacement surgeries and is still suffering the effects of having COVID-19. His condition left him unsteady and he suffered a fall that left him unconscious for four days until he was found. He had a serious concussion and spent several months in the hospital where he had more surgeries.

Barr has been discharged from the hospital and needs physical therapy. The fundraising campaign seeks to help with the cost of medical bills that have exceeded his insurance limits, which has caused the stoppage of his therapy. He needs financial help to continue his therapy and improve his health, as well as for his living expenses.
