GMRS Gears Up For Joint Auction
auction, set for September 12 – 13, 2006, will feature both the Phil Rizzuto and
the Rusty Staub collections in a joint auction.
The Staub Collection,
featuring such items as his mitt from his very first Major League game, a
game-worn Expos flannel uniform, a 1986 team-signed Mets baseball, his first
Major League home run ball, hit off Don Drysdale, the balls from his first, his
1,000th, his 2000th and his 2500th hits and his
1969 All Star Game used bat, will join the celebrated Rizzuto collection in
GMRS’s third major sports memorabilia auction since being
founded.
“I’m really pleased to be in this auction with Phil
Rizzuto,” said Staub in a recent press release. “Phil is a great New
York icon just like Yogi. To share the auction with him is terrific. I was
excited to see some of the items he’s put into the auction and I decided if I’m
ever going to put mine up, sharing a catalog with Phil was the way to
go.”
Geppi’s Memorabilia Road Show specializes in collections
consigned directly from players, their families and their representatives. For
