Glen Powell is on the Move in First Running Man Trailer
Paramount Pictures has dropped the long-awaited trailer for The Running Man, introducing a new version of Ben Richards and the murderous game of Hide and Seek.
First we meet Ben (Glen Powell), a husband and father living in the slums with a child who needs medical assistance that they can’t afford. That’s when Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) presents him with an offer to be a contestant in the popular life and death game of The Running Man. The game is introduced through the juxtaposition of people being chased and killed, and shots of the audience watching in an excited frenzy while host Bobby Thompson (Colman Domingo), shots that “Bloodlust is our birthright.”

Ben learns that in this version of the game, contestants must try to survive for 30 days with the entire world looking for them. Despite the terrible odds, Ben enters the game with the goal of not only winning, but of ending the game for good. The second half of the trailer is packed with action – from grenades in elevators to fights on airplanes – as Ben tries to avoid detection and stay alive.
This is the second film adaptation of The Running Man novel by Stephen King (written under his pseudonym Richard Bachman). As evidenced by the trailer, this new adaptation directed by Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead) uses more humor than the original movie that starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie is also different in that Ben Richards isn’t in an arena with a small group of trained killers.

The new movie also stars Michael Cera, Katy O’Brian, Lee Pace, William H. Macy, Sean Hayes, David Zayas, and Jayme Lawson.
The Running Man arrives in theaters on November 7, 2025. The trailer, which includes adult language and content, can be seen below.
