It might have been a couple of quick shots, but did you catch Gemstone
Publishing in the background of the hit HBO series Entourage this week?
When actor Vincent Chase (portrayed by Adrian Grenier) and actress Mandy Moore
(playing herself) are introduced to the fans at the show’s version of Comic-Con
International: San Diego as the stars of the new Aquaman movie directed
by James Cameron (who played himself on the show two weeks ago), they were
standing in front of a banner featuring some great Harvey Kurtzman EC artwork
with a Gemstone logo clearly in frame

“We worked with Monty Hom from the
show to create banners, back drops and various set dressing pieces for their
version of the San Diego con, and it was really cool to see our material and
other comics publishers represented,” said Jamie David, Gemstone’s Director of
Marketing. “Several people on our staff were already big fans of the show before
we got involved, but even they were surprised with the comic book theme turn
Entourage has taken this season.”

More information on
Entourage is available at http://www.hbo.com/entourage/index.html
and for Scoop readers who have the “On Demand” service from their cable
providers, it’s episode #17.
