GEM’s The Place To Be
Following the weekly grind, it’s great to have something fun for the whole family to do on the weekend. Go to Geppi’s Entertainment Museum, where they will be hosting Saturday Morning Funnies on the second Saturday of every month. Held from 10 am until 1 pm, each family will receive a free copy of the Baltimore Sun, including the funny pages.
There will also be cartoons, donuts, coffee, activities, and games. Special guests will be there each session to meet the kids and read classic stories to them. The next date for Saturday Morning Funnies is October 13, 2007. Come, learn about the news, laugh at the funnies, and enjoy the GEM environment.
Then, come back Sunday for the first SUNday HONday. This mini-festival, like that of Baltimore’s traditional HONfest street party, will be held at the museum from 11 am until 3 pm. Inspired by GEM’s Baltimore Magazine exhibit occurring a few days before the Broadway hit Hairspray opens at Baltimore’s Hippodrome, there will be games, photo opportunities, and other fun activities. To promote the show, and add to the fun of HONday, the Hippodrome is providing the Hairspray soundtrack to the first 100 families and guests can register to win free tickets to the show.
