Hake’s premier Auction #246 is in its second week of bidding with 1,424 lots of pop culture and Americana collectibles. The action figure section is a staple in Hake’s auctions with rare, high grade, and highly sought figures, vehicles, and playsets. This time around, an extremely rare G.I. Joe vehicle, key Transformers figures, and popular Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles figures are among the toy section’s biggest highlights.

The G.I. Joe Cobra Combat Set M.S.V. Series 2 vehicle set AFA 80 from Hasbro Canada is the only AFA-graded example. It contains the Stinger (Cobra Night Attack 4-WD) and a matching black Cobra version of the Mobile Missile System. Featuring a bilingual label, it was offered as a Sears exclusive and was only available for purchase in Canada. Of note, the Stinger vehicle has the twin barrel machine gun that is typically seen mounted in the bed of the G.I. Joe’s VAMP (Multi-Purpose Attack Vehicle) instead of the more commonly seen Ground-To-Air Rockets launcher system that comes with regular Stingers.

The Cobra Combat Set is offered by the original owner, whose mother packed it away where it was kept safe for decades. In addition to being the only AFA-graded example, it is so rare that many G.I. Joe collectors have never seen this Cobra set from Canada. “As these exclusive sets saw limited production, a factory-sealed example in high grade condition makes for an even more attractive offering. An extremely rare piece of G.I. Joe history, the Cobra Combat Set M.S.V. is missing from many of the most advanced collections,” according to Hake’s.

Another international example is the Toltoys Action Man Snake Eyes Series 1 11-back AFA 80+. The figure comes from the G.I. Joe figure line that was sold in Australia and is on a peach file card. Only four examples have been graded by AFA, with only one in this grade and one higher.

The top G.I. Joe lots are rounded out by the Crusader Space Shuttle with Avenger Scout Craft Series 8 Vehicle AFA 85.

Leading the Robots in Disguise is the Transformers Series 3 Ultra Magnus AFA 80 unpainted face version that advertises the glow in the dark mini poster. It is among the most desirable Series 3 Transformers toys and the first Hake’s has offered of this variety. The rare piece is one of only two examples that have been graded by AFA.

A Transformers Series 3 Stunticon Motormaster AFA 85 (part of the Combiner Menasor) made in Japan and Transformers Series 1 Jet – Thundercracker (Decepticon Warrior) with rubsign AFA 75+ are among the featured lots.

One of the biggest superhero teams flies into the auction with the Super Powers Collection Hall of Justice Series 1 playset AFA 85. Made for DC’s Justice League, the set contains a vehicle landing pad, computer command center, revitalization and storage chambers for action figures, working elevators and security doors, and jail cells with a hidden trap door. It is a high grade example with none graded higher.

New York’s pizza loving heroes are represented with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Undercover Series 7 figures on 97-back cards. They include Leonardo AFA 80 with purple accessories and matching collectors card and coin, Donatello AFA 80 with blue accessories and matching collectors card, Raphael AFA 80 with yellow accessories and matching collectors card, and Michaelangelo AFA 75+ with green accessories and matching collectors card.

The Star Wars action figures and related lots will be covered in next week’s issue of Scoop.

Hake’s Auction #246 is accepting bids now through Tuesday and Wednesday, March 24-25, 2026.
