Last Saturday at comic shops across the nation, the fifth anniversary of
Free Comic Book Day saw eager fans, new readers and creators gathered together
to share their love of comics. From the Comic And Pop-culture Expo (CAPE) in
Dallas, Texas to Captain Blue Hen Comics in Newark, Delaware, it was all about
the comics!

Captain Blue Hen Comics hosted John Gallagher (Buzzboy), Scott Neely
(Scooby-Doo), Neil Vokes (The Black Forest) and an assortment of
movie stars, including Batman, Spider-man, Boba Fett, The Punisher, a Cylon, and
a couple of Storm Troopers. While in Catonsville, Maryland, at Cosmic Comix
& Toys, fans lined up to peruse the rows of comics in the back issue bins.
In addition, Cosmic held give-aways for fans of all ages, raffled off comic swag
throughout the day, and featured Drew Rausch and Jocelyn Gajeway creators of
Sullengrey.

Finally, at CAPE, nostalgically referred to as
CAPE 2: Son of CAPE after the classic Marvel origin books, the festivities
featured outdoor signings from Bryan Hitch (Ultimate 2), Gail Simone
