Francesco Francavilla’s take on classic crime stories is being collected by Dark Horse Books in The Black Beetle Omnibus. The book features all of the Black Beetle stories, including the No Way Out and Kara Bocek full-length adventures and the Night Shift one-shot.

In No Way Out, the Black Beetle witnesses an explosion that kills dozens and destroys Colt City’s organized crime community, prompting him to search for answers. Then he travels to the Middle East to find an ancient, mysterious weapon before Nazis get their hands on it in Kara Bocek. The Black Beetle is pitted against Hitler’s Werewolf Korps when a powerful magic totem arrives at the Colt City Natural History Museum in Night Shift.

Previously unseen bonus content is also showcased in the book, including concept art, layouts, character studies, vintage style lobby cards, and material from Francavilla’s sketchbook. The omnibus will have a new cover by Francavilla.

“I’m super excited to see all the adventures – published so far – of my baby, The Black Beetle, collected in one book,” Francavilla said. “It’s the perfect way to get to know (or rediscover for those who are already familiar with the books) my neo-noir hero and get excited for what comes next in the shadowy streets of Colt City!”

The Black Beetle Omnibus is a 216-page softcover volume that will be in comic shops on September 22, 2026.
