Four Indie Creators Join Baltimore Comic-Con

The Baltimore Comic-Con has announced four new additions to the guest list for the convention on September 25-27, 2026. Indie comic creators Dean Haspiel, Vito Delsante, Steve Walker, and Jeffrey Burandt will join dozens of other writers and artists at the Baltimore Convention Center.

Haspiel is a cartoonist known for creating Billy Dogma, The Red Hook, and Covid Cop, and he illustrated HBO’s Bored to Death. As a writer and artists, he has worked at Marvel, DC/Vertigo, Archie, Image, and Webtoon on titles like The Fox, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, X-Men, Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Wildcat, and Godzilla. His book, Antimatter, was recently funded on Kickstarter.

Delsante is a writer-graphic novelist who has written for Action Lab Entertainment, DC, Marvel, Image Comics, and AdHouse Books, among others. His creator-owned superhero story, Stray, was published by Action Lab, where he also wrote Action Lab: Dog of WonderActionverse, Militeddy, and Midnight Tiger Stronger.

Walker is an independent comic artist, educator, and editor whose current projects include the self-published series The Blackfore Chronicles and the upcoming Pay the Devil with Delsante. He has worked with Random House Books, Tor Books, and Action Lab Entertainment. Since 2008, he has taught comics and sequential arts at the Art Students League of New York and edits the annual anthology of student work. He also edits the anthology No Day Without a Line.

Burandt is a writer and performer who has written for DC, Devil’s Due Comics, Heavy Metal Magazine, IDW, Image, and Source Point Press. At this year’s Baltimore Comic-Con, Burandt will debut his graphic novel, Gonad the Ballbarian with art st Blake Sims.

“Dino’s crew is always a great representation of what’s great in indie comics creators,” Baltimore Comic-Con show promoter Marc Nathan said. “This year is no different, and you should absolutely make your way to their booth to check out what’s new and exciting!”
