Production is officially underway on Sony Pictures’ upcoming Jumanji sequel! To add to the excitement, Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson (Central Intelligence) have shared the first photo from the set, featuring themselves and their co-stars in full character. Hart is starring in the film as Moose Finbar alongside Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) as Ruby Roundhouse, Jack Black (Goosebumps) as Professor Shelly Oberon, and Johnson as Dr. Smolder Bravestone.

Not too long ago, Johnson shared the first concept art for the film. That photo suggested that Johnson and his co-stars are playing the “avatars” of the kids actually playing Jumanji. Given the peculiar wardrobe of the cast, this idea seems even more likely now. Although not pictured, Nick Jonas (Careful What You Wish For) is also rumored to be joining the A-list cast.

Matt Tolmach (The Amazing Spider-Man), William Teitler (Jumanji), and Ted Field (Riddick) are producing the product alongside executive producers Mike Weber (Spring Breakers) and Jumanji’s own Van Allsburg. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher) is directing the film from a screenplay by Con Air‘s Scott Rosenberg with Bad Robot executive producer, Jeff Pinkner, on hand to consult.

Chris Van Allsburg created Jumanji in the form of a children’s book back in 1985. The story depicts a magical board game that causes jungle plants and creatures to invade the suburbs. The original 1995 film was directed by Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger) and starred the late Robin Williams, Bonnie Hunt, Kirsten Dunst, Bradley Pierce, Jonathan Hyde, Bebe Neuwirth, David Alan Grier, and Patricia Clarkson.

Jumanji is scheduled for release in 2017.
