Highlander is returning to comics in a series based on an original script by franchise creator Gregory Widen. Highlander: The Original Screenplay brings Widen’s original vision to life and features art by Szymon Kudranski.

“This lavishly illustrated comic tells the story of the immortal Connor MacLeod as he lives through the centuries facing off against rivals for the mysterious prize,” according to the description.

The Highlander fantasy franchise began with the Highlander film in 1986. It tells the story of Scottish Highlander Connor MacLeod who learns that he is immortal and is set to confront his longstanding enemy in modern New York City. Christopher Lambert played the role of Connor in the film and continued to play him in several projects. He starred as Connor in three film sequels, and the TV series that ran from 1992 to ’98. The franchise also included an animated series in the ‘90s, a show that spun out of the first series, and another film.

Highlander comics began in 2006 with a 13-issue series at Dynamite Entertainment. They followed it with the Highlander: Way of the Sword and Highlander Origins: The Kurgan limited series in 2007 and 2009, respectively. IDW published the Highlander: The American Dream five-issue series in 2017.

The first issue comes with a dozen covers, and Titan Comics is giving a first look at the art.

Highlander: The Original Screenplay #1 will be in comic shops on December 2, 2026.
