First Look at DC League of Super-Pets
Superman’s best dog pal Krypto is getting his own movie with DC League of Super-Pets. EW was given the exclusive first look at the animated feature, including two images of the characters.
Dwayne Johnson is voicing Krypto, Superman’s heroic dog, in DC League of Super-Pets. Krypto has powers like his owner, which he will use as the leader of a team of recently powered rescue animals. Their mission? To save Metropolis!
The Legion of Super-Pets made their official appearance as a team in Adventure Comics #293 in 1962. (To learn more about the Super-Pets, check out our Did You Know article on the team.)
Johnson is joined by frequent collaborator Kevin Hart, who will voice Ace the dog. The voice cast also includes Natasha Lyonne as Merton the turtle, Diego Luna as Chip the squirrel, and Vanessa Bayer as P.B. the pig. The movie is written by Jared Stern, whose credits include The Lego Batman Movie and The Lego Ninjago Movie, along with live-action comedies Mr. Popper’s Penguins and The Watch.
DC League of Super-Pets is set for theatrical release on May 20, 2022.
