Archie Andrews is leaving the charming streets of Riverdale for the burning avenues of perdition in Archie in Hell. Oni Press is collaborating with Archie Comic Publications on a line of new Archie comics, and now they are previewing the first issue of the horror title.

Archie in Hell #1 is written by Patrick Horvath (Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees) and illustrated by Tyler Crook (Harrow County) and debuts in November 2026.

“They say that every small town has a secret. Well, in the case of Riverdale, it’s one heck of a humdinger: An ancient order of cultists has infiltrated its townspeople, bent on using human sacrifice to usher a demon lord into our mortal plane. And they’ve finally identified the final target they need to bring a century’s worth of planning to fruition: hometown football champion and all-around good guy Archie Andrews. The first issue comes with a main cover by Crook, cover B by Patrick Horvath, cover C by Paul Azaceta (Outcast), cover D by Jesse Lonergan (Drome), and cover E is a blank sketch. There are foil variants by Crook and Horvath, a teaser variant (1:10) by Kano (Daredevil), legacy variant (1:20) by Dan Parent (Archie mainstay), variant (1:50) by Mirka Andolfo (Sweet Paprika), variant (1:100) by Mahmud Asrar (Conan the Barbarian), and a black and white variant (1:250) by Lonergan.

“Archie In Hell by Horvath and Crook really puts our favorite Archie characters through their paces – missed dates, ritual sacrifice, and a hero forced to confront the darkest annals of Riverdale’s past now caught in a demonic grip,” Editor in Chief Sierra Hahn said. “This world is equal parts familiar, shocking, gruesome, and fun. Before Archie faces that nightmare, he’ll star in the new Archie series written by Ben H. Winters (The Last Policeman trilogy) with art by Fábio Moon (Daytripper). Released around the time of Archie’s 85th anniversary, the comic reintroduces the charming 17-year-old and his friends with a look at his past, present, and future.

In October, writer Corinna Bechko (Green Lantern: Earth One) and artist Kano whip up some magic in Sabrina the Teenage Witch #1. The young magic practitioner is balancing her social life and developing skills when a mythical trickster arrives with the potential to wreck both aspects of her life.
