The Figural Cast Iron Collectors Club (FCICC), a non-profit organization
dedicated to the preservation and advocacy of collection as a hobby, recently
held its first “Meet & Greet” in Denver, Pennsylvania this past
March 31, 2006. The group welcomed over 75 members and guests to mix and mingle
over hors d’oeuvres and buffet while discussing collecting news.

The
FCICC, whose mission includes strengthening the tradition of collecting,
encouraging new collectors and providing helpful information on conventions and
other gatherings, aims to be a venue for those who appreciate figural cast iron
pieces to come together and share their passion. Founded in 2006, the club has
grown astronomically in the short time of its existence.

“We felt
there was a need for a figural cast iron club, and by the size of the turnout[at the “Meet & Greet”], it appears we were right,” said
FCICC president, John Smith, on the club’s website.

It’s board of
directors, which includes Donald Heim, Chuck Meeks, Dan Morphy, Charlie Reynolds
and Nancy Smith, is supported by the rest of the executive officers, Vice
President Bob Brady, Recording Secretary/Treasurer Karen Novak and President
Smith.
