A group of creators including Frank Cho (New Avengers, Liberty
Meadows
), John Gallagher (Buzzboy), Andy Runton (Owly), Steve
Conley (Astounding Space Thrills, Escapist) and our own J.C.
Vaughn (24, Shi) spent last Saturday’s Free Comic Book Day at
Cards, Comics & Collectibles in Reisterstown, Maryland.

Novelist
Barry Lyga (The Adventures of Fanboy and Goth Girl) was among the many
fans that stopped by as a number of the creators sketched and signed books for
fans.

Owner Marc Nathan had a full rack of FCBD comics set up in the
front of the shop, and every back issue in the bins was on sale for
$1.

“It was really cool to see so many families out getting comics
together. Marc’s store was full of moms with kids, dads with kids, and other
individuals, many of whom were clearly new to comics,” said Gemstone
Publishing’s Tom Gordon III, who was one of those who stopped by.
