Wizard World and Skybound, Robert Kirkman’s imprint at Image Comics, have announced that Eisner award winner Steve Lieber has designed an exclusive edition of The Walking Dead #1 for Wizard World Portland. Lieber has drawn the second cover in the yearlong series of variant covers for Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead #1.

The variant is available to full price attendees and VIP fans get an additional black and white sketch cover. The exclusive edition of The Walking Dead #1 is being produced in small quantities and will be available at registration when attendees arrive at the show.

Lieber has worked with DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, Scholastic, and many others throughout his career. The Portland resident has drawn Batman, Superman, Hellboy, and Road to Perdition, though he is best known for his work on Whiteout and Whiteout: Melt. He recently finished two Alabaster graphic novels for Dark Horse and is now illustrating Superior Foes of Spider-Man for Marvel.

The Walking Dead stars in attendance at the show include Steven Yeun (Glenn), Sarah Wayne Callies (Lori), Michael Cudlitz (Abraham), Josh McDermitt (Eugene), Michael Rooker (Merle), and Jon Bernthal (Shane). Wizard World Portland will be held January 23-25, 2015 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland Oregon.
