What an incredible weekend we at Mycomicshop (MCS) had! We just finished working and having a great time at the HA Summit in Heritage’s Dallas office on November 13-14, 2022. I can report that it was an incredible experience for all of us at MCS as well as all who attended. Conan, Buddy, and Judy Saunders, and I were so impressed with how well this summit turned out.

Our good friend Rick Akers at Heritage got together with another one of our great friends, Jim Halperin, to pitch this cool idea for a different type of smaller show with a limited group of higher-end sellers and serious high-end buyers that may not normally attend a convention. Halperin agreed with Akers’ idea and the summit went off without a hitch.

There were even servers offering free food and drinks walking the floor on Saturday, and a few very good food trucks serving us free food on Sunday. To wrap it up, they even went the extra mile and hosted us for food and drinks Sunday night at a cool restaurant in our own private room. Conan and I had a great time at the restaurant Sunday evening with more talk about comics, art, and our great hobby.

The summit worked out incredibly well for all who attended and we at MCS did a ton of business. We did lots of buying and selling as well as taking in some amazing consignments that will be hitting our site soon.

We only sold one large piece of original art there, as the great hobbyist Bill Cox, founder of Comicartfans.com, was having his massive virtual original art convention that same weekend. Hopefully everyone involved will time it better for the next summit (I have heard that the next summit might be in about six months), so that the original art collectors and sellers can attend.

For me, personally, it was not just a great show for business, but it was the kind of show where you could just hang out and talk about comics and art with friends, other major sellers, and especially the collectors that I had never met before. Many of the collectors I met there were so happy to meet me and had such nice things to say about me as well. It made me feel embarrassed, truth to tell, but it also made me feel great knowing that many people in our hobby know how much I care about it and how hard I try to keep our wonderful hobby afloat and safe – just like all of the great people at MCS. They also had such nice things to say about MCS and the Saunders family. Meeting a hobby legend like Buddy was a real highlight for so many. A lot people asked me if Este Bagato was joining us that weekend, but unfortunately, she could not make it. It’s amazing how loved she is by so many of our buyers and sellers.

So many collectors told me that they have only had great experiences buying or selling with MCS and that we are the first place they check when they need a comic for their collection. Some sellers even told me that they use MCS website prices to help price their own inventory.

We at MCS were so impressed by the way Heritage ran this event and we can’t wait for the next one. We also hope to see many more of you at the next summit.
