Oni Press and William M. Gaines Agent, Inc. are celebrating the return of EC Comics with Epitaphs from the Abyss Library Edition: Book One. The book will be available in the regular hardcover edition and a limited slipcase and portfolio edition (limited to 1,000). It is the first in a line of hardcovers that collects the new EC library from Oni and will be in comic shops on July 2026.

Epitaphs from the Abyss #1-12 is collected in the book with tales written by Jason Aaron (Thor), Brian Azzarello (Joker), Corinna Bechko (Green Lantern: Earth One), Chris Condon (Ultimate Wolverine), J. Holtham (The Horizon Experiment), and Matt Kindt (BRZRKR). They are joined by artists like Charlie Adlard (The Walking Dead), Tyler Crook (Out of Alcatraz), Kano (Gotham Central), Klaus Janson (The Dark Knight Returns), Leomacs (Benjamin), Alison Sampson (Department of Truth), and others.

Both editions come with over 50 pages of behind the scenes content such as process art, character designs for the new EC horror hosts, cover galleries, and commentary from cartoonist Jay Stephens (Dwellings) and series designer Rian Hughes.

The limited slipcase and portfolio edition comes with 11” x 7” cardstock prints of all 12 covers by Lee Bermejo (Batman: Damned, Joker). It has a foil-stamped slipcase with art by Dustin Weaver (Avengers) and designer Rian Hughes (The Multiversity).

“The dream as an artist has always been for a publisher to let you off your leash with total freedom,” Bermejo said. “In my particular version, though, I want the NIGHTMARE option where said publisher also wants me to come up with the most demented, disturbing, and terrifying imagery possible. My dream/nightmare came true with EC and Oni. It was an honor and a privilege to try and creep you out every month and be a small part of one of the greatest legacies in comics . . . EC HORROR.”

Epitaphs from the Abyss Library Edition: Book One will be in comic shops on July 14.
