eMoviePoster recently completed their three-part April Major Auction, bringing in $513,399 in total sales, including some record prices.
Part I had 302 linen-backed one-sheets, three-sheets, and a seven-sheet, finishing with $152,726 in sales. Part II contained 340 linen-backed posters that brought $92,208. Part III was filled with 531 posters, lobby cards, and more, ending at $268,455.
Top sales were Black Cat window card for $14,940, Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman one-sheet for $9,255, 2001: A Space Odyssey one-sheet for $8,950, Jaws international seven-sheet for $7,250, Things to Come half-sheet for $7,100, Tarzan the Fearless chapter 3 one-sheet for $7,003, Vertigo one-sheet signed by art director Henry Bumstead for $6,900, Ladykillers British quad for $5,827, and Shanghai Express French poster for $5,251.
This auction included hundreds of items that they have never auctioned or only sold once or twice. Items were offered with no reserves and no buyer’s premiums.
